Thereafter, they identified unmanned ATM booths in Delhi. Probe revealed that most of the unauthorised withdrawals had taken place from ATMs at isolated locations and at odd hours. Accordingly, CCTV footages of the alleged ATMs were obtained and analysed. Subsequently they converted the Indian currency into foreign currency and fled from India via Nepal.

On his instance, another person, namely Cornel Traian Mirea, also a Romanian national, was apprehended from IGNOU Road. A sum of Rs 47,200 was recovered from his bag.
